DUSHANBE, 03.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Last year, the Tajik Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) planned to hold the Tajikistan 2020 International Universal Exhibitions in the spring and autumn, but due to the global pandemic and strengthening anti-epidemic measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Tajikistan, these exhibitions were not held. This information was provided today at a press conference by the CCI Chairman Jamshed Jumakhonzoda.
“Due to the spread of COVID-19 and the declaration of a pandemic, not only the above-mentioned exhibitions, but also several plans of the CCI to present domestic products at exhibitions abroad and ensure the participation of domestic entrepreneurs in them were canceled,” Jumakhonzoda added.
While considering the epidemiological situation around the world, the CCI for the first time organized an online exhibition Made in Tajikistan in English and Russian in order to present domestic goods abroad, export development, finding partners, attracting investment, and establishing joint ventures. It was held from November 26 through December 17, 2020. The exhibition gathered more than 150 Tajik companies working in such areas as food, light industry, construction, services, handicrafts, and tourism.
Information about the exhibition was widely disseminated through the diplomatic corps accredited in Tajikistan, Tajik embassies abroad and partners of the CCI. Over 7,000 people visited the exhibition.
