Tajikistan and EBRD Sign Loan

DUSHANBE, 04.03.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – On March 2, a loan agreement was signed between Tajikistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), a support agreement between Kulob administration and the EBRD, as well as a project agreement between the Housing and Communal Services, Kulob’s Water Supply and Sewerage and the EBRD.
The project is aimed at the construction, restoration of existing reservoirs, improvement of quality, neutralization of drinking water and providing the population of Kulob with clean drinking water.
The project total cost is € 15 million, of which loans in the amount of € 7.5 million are allocated by the EBRD, as well as grant funds in the amount of € 7.5 million by the European Union.
Technical assistance in the amount of € 1.35 million for the project preparation are are planned.
The project wi begin in 2021 and is scheduled for completion in 2024.
