Tajikistan and IMF Ready to Develop Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 13.04.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are ready to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in priority areas. This was stated yesterday at a meeting between the Minister of Finance Fayziddin Kahhorzoda and the Deputy Managing Director of the IMF Tao Zhang.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the IMF.
They considered the measures taken by the government of Tajikistan to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the country’s economy, the implementation of measures under the IMF Fast Track Mechanism, tax reform, as well as the preparation of a new IMF Extended Lending Program for Tajikistan.
