DUSHANBE, 31.12.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali said that Tajikistan is linked by a reliable partnership with China. He spoke about this yesterday in an exclusive interview with the Xinhua news agency on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and China.
According to him, Tajikistan and China are close neighbors and reliable partners with historic roots of friendship and good neighborliness.
“As the popular Chinese wisdom says, people strive to get closer to those who have a good soul. Fish flock to a lake rich in algae,” he said.
Rustam Emomali noted that after Tajikistan gained independence, China was one of the first countries to recognize the country as an independent state.
Now, according to him, these relations have grown into a strategic partnership, where respect and trust have become the connecting link.
He noted that China has been supporting Tajikistan over the past three decades and ties of friendship have been strengthened, and mutually beneficial cooperation has significantly expanded.
“We note the high level of political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties between our countries. The key role here is played by the meetings of the heads of state, who determine the strategy for the general development of bilateral relations,” Rustam Emomali added.
In addition, he also noted that since 2005, China has been one of the three leading foreign economic partners of Tajikistan, and is currently the largest investor in the Tajik economy.
Since 2006, Chinese corporations have been supporting Tajikistan in the mining, textile industries, telecommunications, and construction.
“There is a mutual desire for cooperation to cover all stages of the product life cycle,” he added, noting that the country’s non-production sector is also dynamically developing.
According to him, all this is evidence that the Tajik market “is becoming more and more attractive for Chinese companies.»
“Our countries support each other in matters concerning the fundamental interests of the Tajik and Chinese people, especially in ensuring sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity,” Rustam Emomali said.
