Ustopiriyon Will Represent Tajikistan in the 2022 Paris Judo Grand Slam

DUSHANBE, 04.02.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik athlete Komronshoh Ustopiriyon will take part in the 2022 Paris Judo Grand Slam in the weight category up to 90 kg, reports the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan.
A total of 291 athletes, including 157 men and 134 women from 53 countries are expected to take part in the tournament. Athletes will compete for places of honor in 14 weight categories, including 7 weight categories for men and 7 for women.
On the first day, competitions will be held in the weight categories -48 kg, -52 kg, -57 kg, -63 kg among women, and -60 kg, -66 kg, -73 kg among men. On the second day, women will compete in the weight categories -70 kg, -78 kg, +78 kg and men in the weight categories -81 kg, -90 kg, -100 kg, +100 kg.
First place winners will receive €5,000, second place — €3,000, and third place — €1,500.
Ustopiriyon was the recipient of the bronze medal during the 2022 Portuguese Grand Prix, which was held from January 28 through January 30 in Almada.
