Tajik Judoka Sherov Wins Silver Medal at the Asian Cup in Kazakhstan

DUSHANBE, 15.08.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik judoka Abubakr Sherov won a silver medal in the weight up to 66 kg at the Open Asian Cup in memory of Turar Zholdibaev, which was held from August 13 through August 14 in Aktau (Kazakhstan).
Over 154 athletes from six countries took part in the competition. Tajikistan was represented by 8 athletes.
Sherov started the fight from the second round and won against the host athlete Azamat Zulzhalelov, in the quarterfinal against another judoka Bolat Bilol and in the semifinal against the third wrestler Almas Galimov, but in the final he lost to an experienced judoka Sungat Zhubatkan, applying three “shidos”, and got silver medal.
