Tajikistan Increases Export of Cotton Fiber by Almost 50%

DUSHANBE, 18.11.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan increased the export of cotton fiber by almost 50% in the first nine months of this year. Compared with the indicators of January-September last year, the volume of sales of cotton fiber, which makes up the main part of the export of textile products from Tajikistan, increased by 2.1% by weight, and by 49.4% by value.
According to the Customs Service, during the specified period, cotton fiber was exported in the amount of more than 57,400 tons worth more than $146.4 million. The geography of exports of Tajik cotton is the countries of Europe and Asia.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, about 417,000 tons of raw cotton were harvested last year (According to the calculations, 3 kg of raw cotton is 1 kg of fiber).
