Exploration Work To Be Intensified in Khatlon Region

DUSHANBE, 27.01.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The branch of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has decided to conduct exploration work in the oil and gas areas of the Khatlon region. This issue was discussed on January 26 during a meeting of the leadership of Khatlon region with a representative of the branch of CNPC Central Asia B.V. in Tajikistan.
The parties also had an exchange of views on the implementation of the Production Sharing Agreement, which is related to exploration work in the oil and gas areas of the Khatlon region.
Representative of CNPC Central Asia B.V. in Tajikistan said that in the event of successful completion of exploration work, a serious impetus would be given to the development of the oil and gas industry in Tajikistan.
The meeting also focused on the investment opportunities, legal framework and favorable operating conditions, expanding mutually beneficial economic cooperation and attracting Chinese companies to achieve the fourth national goal — the accelerated industrialization of the country.
