DUSHANBE, 03.10.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Aerovisual observations and scientific field work were carried out on the glaciers of the upper Zarafshon River basin.

Field work was carried out jointly by specialists from the Committee for Environmental Protection and the Agency for Hydrometeorology.

Research work to determine the snow reserves and the state of the country’s glaciers is carried out annually in the off-season by organizing expeditions and aerial observations to implement the fifth initiative of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to declare 2025 the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation and implement the action plan of the State Program for study and protection of glaciers in Tajikistan for 2010-2030.

Industry equipment was used to carry out scientific work.
