DUSHANBE, 02.10.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 28, as part of the fourth meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan and Qatar on Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda met with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani
The parties expressed their readiness to expand trade and economic cooperation, as well as agreed to make more efforts to implement specific investment projects.
Al-Thani was presented with a request for the implementation of priority projects in Tajikistan, in particular to facilitate the financing of the construction of the Rogun hydroelectric power plant, the project for the construction of the International Passenger and Cargo Airport in the Dangara district, the modernization of Tajik Aluminum OJSC company (TalCo), the continuation of the construction of the Diyori Dushanbe residential complex, the construction of multi-storey buildings in Dushanbe and tourism infrastructure, the opening of direct passenger routes between Dushanbe and Doha, and the acceptance of 4,000 citizens of Tajikistan into labor migration.
