DUSHANBE, 29.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On May 29, a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Head of the Government of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon.

The meeting first heard a report by the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population, Jamoliddin Abdullozoda, on the Program for the Prevention and Control of Cancer Diseases in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2029.

It was emphasized that the draft Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was developed with the aim of achieving sustainable development goals reflected in the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030.

As noted, in the Strategy for the Protection of the Health of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030, the issue of cancer prevention is recognized as one of the priority areas of the healthcare sector.

The Program for the Prevention and Control of Cancer Diseases in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2029 and the action plan for its implementation were approved after comprehensive discussion.

Relevant ministries and agencies, executive bodies of state power of regions, cities and districts were obliged to ensure the implementation of the program and submit information on its results every year.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that all possible means and resources should be used to explain to the public the causes and factors of cancer and their prevention.

Then, at the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a number of draft laws of the Republic of Tajikistan, including “On Secondary Vocational Education”, “On Amendments and Addenda to the Customs Code of the Republic of Tajikistan”, “On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On State Duty” and “On Amendments and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Dehkan Farming” were approved and submitted for consideration to the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The meeting also discussed issues related to the State Program for Drinking Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment for 2025-2029, the State Program for the Development of Construction of Memorials and Sculpture in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2026-2030, the Program for the Digitalization of the Agricultural Sector of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2030, and excise tax rates for excisable goods, and adopted relevant decisions.

Regarding the Program for the Digitalization of the Agricultural Sector of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2029, it was stated that it was developed to further continue agrarian reforms, create a system resilient to climate change, develop a green economy, create favorable conditions for the development of the agricultural sector, increase productivity, create new jobs, etc.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, instructed officials to develop and approve an implementation plan for the program. The relevant structures were instructed to take measures to implement the program and report on its results.

After discussing the issues on the agenda of the meeting, the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, gave assignments and recommendations on the implementation of previous instructions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the expansion of development work, the effective use of cultivated lands, and serious preparations for a worthy celebration of the national holiday — the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
