Tajikistan Reaffirms Commitment to CASA-1000 at Sweden Dialogue

The Republic of Tajikistan attaches special importance to the successful implementation of the regional electricity transmission project CASA-1000, Energy and Water Resources Minister Daler Juma said during a high-level dialogue on the project held in Ludvika.
According to Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, the meeting brought together representatives of CASA-1000 member countries, as well as executives and specialists from contracting companies involved in building converter stations in Tajikistan and Pakistan.
Participants included representatives of Hitachi Energy of Sweden and Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios S.A. of Spain, which carried out construction of converter stations in Sangtuda and Nowshera.
During the meeting, Juma said the CASA-1000 project is one of the key initiatives for regional energy integration, contributing to the development of electricity trade, strengthening energy security and expanding economic cooperation between countries of Central Asia and South Asia.
Participants also discussed a range of issues related to the project’s implementation agenda.
