Tajikistan’s finance minister held talks with a World Bank regional director during the Spring Meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund in Washington.
Finance Minister Faiziddin Qahhorzoda met with Abebe Adugna, the World Bank’s newly appointed regional director for equitable growth, finance and institutions in Europe and Central Asia, according to the Finance Ministry.
Discussions centered on expanding cooperation in key sectors, particularly energy and transport.
The officials also reviewed efforts to secure budget support through economic reforms, boost private sector growth and generate employment, priorities reflected in a new bilateral strategy.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in these areas.
