DUSHANBE, July 22, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Officials and members of the Tajik IT diaspora met in New York to discuss ways to engage overseas technology professionals in supporting Tajikistan’s digital transformation and innovation agenda.

According to the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the meeting was organized by the agency, the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations.

Opening the event, First Deputy Head of the Communications Service Parviz Noriyon presented an overview of Tajikistan’s telecommunications sector, investment opportunities, and priorities for developing the country’s digital infrastructure. The presentation also outlined areas where Tajik professionals living abroad could contribute to technology projects and innovation initiatives.

Participants discussed strengthening cooperation with Tajik IT specialists abroad and leveraging their expertise to support the development of information and communication technologies (ICT), the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure in Tajikistan.

The meeting also focused on attracting investment and implementing joint projects in the digital technology sector.

Participants shared proposals on expanding practical cooperation, exchanging expertise, training highly qualified specialists, supporting innovation initiatives, and mobilizing investment for the country’s digital development.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing readiness to continue constructive dialogue and deepen cooperation to advance Tajikistan’s digital ecosystem and implement joint technology projects.
