Tajik State Medical University Enrolls Students from 32 Countries

DUSHANBE, July 24, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – The Avicenna Tajik State Medical University currently educates 2,161 international students from 32 countries, alongside its domestic student body, Rector Muhiddin Nuriddin announced at a press conference today.
According to the rector, the increase in the number of international students compared to 2025 reflects the university’s growing international reputation and improved global ranking.
The university offers medical and pharmaceutical education in seven specialties: General Medicine, Pediatrics, Public Health Management, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Clinical Biochemistry, and Medical Psychology.
In response to the evolving needs of the healthcare sector and in line with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, two new specialties—Clinical Biochemistry and Medical Psychology—have been added to the university’s educational license to strengthen the quality of medical and social healthcare services.
The university currently has 14,879 students, an increase of 1,107 students compared to the 2025 academic year.
