DUSHANBE, July 24, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Ayni has been officially registered as a research institution in the SCOPUS international scientific database operated by Elsevier, Rector Ahliddin Ibodullozoda announced at a press conference on July 23.
The rector noted that expanding international cooperation remains one of the university’s key strategic priorities. The institution continues to strengthen partnerships with foreign higher education establishments and has launched systematic preparations and documentation to participate in two of the world’s leading university rankings — QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
As part of efforts to enhance foreign language education, the university has established cooperation with the United Kingdom’s Effecta program, through which more than 50 faculty members and over 500 students have been enrolled in English language training.
During the first half of 2026, 26 students were sent to higher education institutions in Belarus, the Republic of Korea, and Kazakhstan under academic exchange programs. In addition, two faculty members completed professional training in Russia and Germany, while 16 academic staff participated in conferences and other international events in the United Kingdom, France, Russia, India, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, the Republic of Korea, China, and Uzbekistan.
According to Ibodullozoda, the university currently has 350 international students enrolled across all levels of study. They come from eight countries: Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Russia, China, and the Republic of Korea.
