Italy’s Massimo Carrera appointed head coach of FC Spartak Moscow
Dushanbe, 18.08.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Italy’s Massimo Carrera has been appointed new head coach of FC Spartak Moscow, the club’s press service said on Wednesday.
«Today the board of directors of FC Spartak Moscow decided to appoint Italian specialist Massimo Carrera, 52, head coach of our team,» the press service said.
Carrera’s predecessor Dmitry Alenichev decided to quit his post in early August after the club failed to reach the UEFA Europe League playoff, TASS reported.
Carrera became the club’s acting head coach after Alenichev’s resignation.
Alexander Zhirkov, Deputy Chairman of the Spartak Board of Directors, said a two-year contract had been signed with the Italian trainer.
Carrera said he was proud and happy to become the head coach of one of Russia’s most famous football clubs and promised to work day and night to achieve success.
