Saudi entrepreneurs will arrive in Tajikistan to study opportunities of investing in Tajikistan’s economy
DUSHANBE, 04.04.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The second session of the Tajik-Saudi commission for trade and economic cooperation took place on April 1-2, 2018 at the headquarters of the General Investment Authority in Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh.
The two sides reviewed the current economic situation of the two countries in a number of economic, commercial, investments, technical, cultural, youth and sports fields, in order to strengthen and enhance bilateral cooperation between the two sides.
The Tajikistani side was headed by the Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management Farrukh Hamralizoda, while the Saudi side was headed by the Deputy Minister of Commerce and Investment Eng. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Bawardi.
During the consultation the Chairman of State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of the role played by the joint committee between the two countries in enhancing investment economic cooperation and the efforts of Saudi businessmen and their Tajik counterparts to push bilateral relations toward further cooperation and coordination
He expressed his thanks to an appreciation of the leadership and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the warm hospitality extended to the Tajik delegation
During the meeting, they discussed the issues pertaining to the meeting’s agenda and reviewed a number of technical aspects including economy, commerce, finance, investment, education, technology, agriculture, water, wildlife and others.
The session reportedly ended with singing of a protocol.
Meanwhile, conference of representatives of the business communities of Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia took place in Riyadh on April 2-3.
In 2007-2017, entrepreneurs from Saudi Arabia reportedly invested 160.2 million U.S. dollars in Tajikistan’s economy.
