DUSHANBE, 04.07.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan is officially invited to participate in the multi-sport competitions of the 18th Asian Games to be held in Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang. NIAT “Khovar” correspondent was reported by Committee’s press secretary Umarali Safarali.

According to him, 462 medals in 40 sports, including such additional types as 3 × 3 basketball, freestyle BMX and others will be played in 2018 Asian Games program.

18th Asian Games will be held from August 18 to September 2. This grandiose tournament will be attended by athletes from 45 world’s countries, including Tajikistan.

“Currently, the Committee is actively working on the selection of our athletes who will take part in the upcoming summer grandiose sports competitions. A list of participants is being compiled, which we will soon share”, — added U. Safarali.

It should be noted that the 17th Asian Games took place in Incheon (South Korea) from September 19 to October 4, 2014. Since 1951, the Asian Games are held every 4 years under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and are regulated by the supervision of the International Olympic Committee.
