DUSHANBE, 23.08.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The junior football team of Tajikistan (U-16), as part of preparation for the final part of the 2018 Asian Championship, on August 22 left for Almaty to take part at the International Tournament for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the press centre of the Football Federation of Tajikistan.

It is reportedly said that the tournament will be held on August 24 — 28 in Talgar at the training base of the national team of Kazakhstan. The junior team of Tajikistan will play in Group B against second team of Kazakhstan and Krasnodar Academy. Group A will include youth teams from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.

According to the rules of the tournament, the matches will be held on the principle “each with each” in one round. The teams that took the first places in the groups will meet in the finals and the teams that finish in second places will compete for bronze medals. The teams that took the last places in their groups will play for 5th-6th places.

The total prize fund of the International Tournament for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan-2018 is 15 thousand USD. The winner of the tournament in addition to the cup will receive 7 thousand USD, the silver medalist will get 5 thousand USD, and the bronze medalist — 3 thousand USD.

Participation in this tournament for the junior team of Tajikistan will be the stage of preparation for the final part of the 2018 Asian Championship to be held from September 20 to October 7 in Malaysia. At the Asian Championship, Tajik junior team will play against teams of Malaysia (September 20), Japan (September 23) and Thailand (September 26).
