DUSHANBE, 30.08.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. This morning the well-known Tajik athlete Shahriyor Daminov won the third medal of Tajikistan at the 2018 Summer Asian Games.

As the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan reports, within Asian Games  in Palembang (Indonesia) there were competitions in rowing on canoes and kayaks in which Tajik athlete Shahriyor Daminov won silver medal at the distance of 1000 meters in a single kayak.

According to the source, the competitions were attended by 8 athletes. Shahriyor with the result 4: 05.950 came second. The first place was taken by an experienced athlete from Uzbekistan Vadim Nemkov with a score of 4:05.224. The bronze medal with the result of 4:06.434 was won by the Iranian athlete Muhammad Nabi Rizo.

We will recall that this is the third silver medal of the national team of Tajikistan at the 2018 Summer Asian Games, which are taking place in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang. On August 26, Olympic champion, well-known Tajik athlete Dilshod Nazarov in hammer throwing competitions and on August 29, Behruz Khojazoda in weight category of 81 kg in wrestling “kurash” won silver medals.

Tajikistan with three silver medals among 37 countries that won medals, takes the 30th position in the overall medal standings.
