Tajikistan and Korea Expand Economic Cooperation
DUSHANBE, 10.01.2019 (NIAT Khovar) — The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Tajikistan Jamshed Jumakhonzoda held talks with the temporary Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Tajikistan Lee Woo Chul on Wednesday.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues relating to strengthening relations and development of business ties by joint activities.
“The cooperation with South Korean business partners is very important for the CCI of Tajikistan,” said Jumakhonzoda. He also stressed the importance of the first trilateral business forum format in Dushanbe, which was attended by more than two hundred representatives from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
“Tajikistan is also interested in enhancing bilateral relations, attracting Korean investment, in particular into the hydropower, trade, engineering, the pharmaceutical industry, as well as road construction, tourism and handicraft,” added the chairman.
Currently, a representative office of the CCI operates in Seoul. Members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Korea, including representatives of investment companies and enterprises of industrial technologies previously visited Dushanbe on a number of occasions.
