Tajikistan’s Junior Team Ties with Greece in the Granatkin Memorial
DUSHANBE, 06.06.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The junior football team of Tajikistan (U-17) tied with the Greek team in its starting match at the Valentin Granatkin Memorial, which is taking place in St. Petersburg, Russia. The match ended with the score of 4:4, reported the Football Federation of Tajikistan.
Rustam Soirov scored two goals for the team, while Sharifbek Rahmatov and Islom Zoirov scored the remaining goals.
In another match, the Turkish team beat Kyrgyzstan with a score of 1:0.
Tajikistan will play its next match against Kyrgyzstan this Friday at 14:00 Dushanbe time.
In the final round of the group stage, Tajikistan will play against Turkey on Monday at 21:00 Dushanbe time. All the matches of the Tajik team will be held at the Turbostroitel Stadium in St. Petersburg.
In total, 12 teams divided into 3 groups are participating in the Granatkin Memorial. Following the group stage, the winners of each group and the best team that finishes second will continue to compete for prizes in the semifinals.
The remaining teams will play for the 5-12 places.
