Sughd’s External Trade Turnover Reaches Over 1 Billion Somoni
DUSHANBE, 19.07.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – During the first six months of 2019, Sughd’s external trade turnover has reached 1.01 billion somoni, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan in Sughd Province. This is approximately 70 million more than in the same period last year.
Sughd exports mostly to the neighboring countries, with 80.7% of its exports going to the CIS states. That is a 4.5% increase compared to 2018. Other countries make up 19.3% and bring in about 955 million somoni or 95.5 million dollars.
Sughd exports a variety of different products. Cement exports increased twofold, while fruit and vegetable exports increased by 56.7%. Industrial products are exported to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China, Turkey, Belgium, Russia, Italy, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, Iran and the Netherlands.
Sughd Province has trade relations with 52 countries, including nine CIS states.
