Japanese Government Opens Five New Projects in Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 11.12.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – A signing ceremony for five new projects was convened today at the Japanese Embassy in Dushanbe. The total grant for the projects is $435,940.
The grant contracts were signed between the Ambassador of Japan in Tajikistan Takayuki Miyashita and the representatives of five local cities and districts.
The projects are funded through Japan’s grant assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP). They are:
— Project for the Rehabilitation of the Children’s Hospital’s Heating System in Konibodom, signed with the city’s Chairman Zafarbek Davlatzoda, for the amount of $90,900.
— Project for the Construction of a Women’s Center in Baljuvon, signed with the district’s Chairman Marifat Zoirzoda, for the amount of $89,150.
— Project for the Improvement of Medical Equipment of the Central Hospital in Asht, signed with Chairman Zarif Mirdado, for the amount of $90,000.
— Project for the Construction of School No.59 in Surkhobcha in the Devashtich district, signed with Chairman Sulaimon Ziyozoda, for the amount of $90,210.
— The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment for the Ophthalmological Department of Shifobakhsh National Medical Center in Dushanbe, signed with Director Khizmatullo Shamszoda, for the amount of $75,680.
During the ceremony, the Japanese Ambassador noted that Japan’s GGP projects have been able to contribute to the sustainable development of Tajikistan through various projects implemented all across the country and that these projects in particular are planned to contribute to the creatioin of a better environment for the vulnerable people in the remote areas.
