DUSHANBE, 28.01.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, Istiklol FC will play against its Saudi Arabian opponent Al Ahly at the AFC Champions League 2020 playoffs.

Sharing his expectations from the upcoming match, the head coach of Istiklol Mubin Ergashev said that the Saudi Arabian team is a worthy opponent.

“We are quite knowledgeable about the strength of our opponent. Al Ahly is a strong team. Our opponent is currently in the leading group of the championship of Saudi Arabia,” Ergashev said.

“The club has a number of strong legionnaires, including from Europe. We’ll find out how the match will turn out this evening. There is only one hard step left that we must take. We must fight,” Ergashev emphasized.

Istiklol captain Alisher Jalilov emphasized that Al Ahli is a good and strong team that plays in the AFC Champions League every year.

“Today, a tough fight awaits us, but we will fight to achieve our goal and to please our fans,” Jalilov noted.
