Hissor Farmers Cultivate Cotton on 2,500 Hectares
DUSHANBE, 22.04.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – While taking advantage of sunny days and existing agricultural opportunities, Hissor farmers are planting cotton on 2,500 hectares this year.
Joining the staff and agricultural sector specialists, Hissor Chairman Sharifjon Jumazoda examined the situation of field works in public and private farms, and ammounced the official start to the cotton sowing campaign in several farms.
He also got acquainted with the cotton cultivation, growing vegetables in greenhouses, planting and growing onions and potatoes, the use of land in farms, and met with local farmers.
“From now on, special attention should be paid to the production and increase of productivity, and every plot of land should be utilized efficiently,” stressed Jumazoda.
Agricultural sector officials were instructed to prepare a plan for re-sowing and to pay special attention to the production of vegetables and legumes.
The spring sowing of vegetables and other crops is currently in full swing in all Hissor’s agricultural farms. The city’s farmers are determined to make a significant contribution to the country’s food security and to provide the consumer market with agricultural products in all seasons.
