National Assembly Speaker Rustam Emomali Attends the CSTO PA Council Meeting and the CSTO PA Plenary Session

DUSHANBE, 01.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali attended the meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA) and its 13th plenary session via video conference.
The meetings focused on organizational issues, the results of work on the implementation of the priorities of the Russian chairmanship in the CSTO in 2020, the situation in the area of CSTO’s responsibility and measures to counter challenges and threats to collective security, projects model legislative acts and recommendations on defense and security issues, the process of implementing the standards of model legislation in the national legislation of the member states, the draft program of the CSTO PA for the collection and integration of the national legislation of the member states for 2021- 2025, and other issues relating to the activities of the CSTO PA.
Rustam Emomali delivered his speech at the meeting and considering Tajikistan’s chairmanship in the CSTO in 2021 proposed to hold the next meeting in the first half of 2021 in Tajikistan, which was unanimously accepted.
