Ilhomjon Barotov Declared Best Player in 2020

DUSHANBE, 29.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The 30-year-old captain of Istaravshan and midfielder of the national team of Tajikistan Ilhomjon Barotov was recognized as the best footballer in the outgoing year.
The award ceremony of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, where the winners of individual awards at the end of 2020 were announced, took place yesterday.
Following the 2020 season, the winners of junior and women’s leagues, futsal and veterans championships, youth, first and highest leagues, as well as winners in other nominations were awarded.
Due to the pandemic, the ceremony was broadcast on TV without the participation of guests.
Former Istiklol midfielder Ehsoni Panjshanbe, former Khujand player Fathullo Fathulloev, and Istaravshan captain Ilhomjon Barotov took the title of the best player of 2020. Following the result, Barotov, who became the top scorer of the Championship 2020, was recognized as the best in this nomination. Also, Barotov was named the best striker of the season.
Rustam Yatimov (Istiklol) was declared the best goalkeeper of the Championship 2020. The laurels of the best defender went to Firdavs Chakalov (Khujand). Alisher Jalilov (Istiklol) was named the best midfielder. Istiklol’s mentor Vitaliy Levchenko was recognized as the best coach. The best referee of 2020 was Sayodjon Zainiddinov (Dushanbe). The prize of the best legionnaire of the championship was received by the Ukrainian Alexey Larin (Istiklol).
