Specially Created Group Starts Composing a Draft State Program for Geological Development for 2021-2030

DUSHANBE, 03.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – A specially created group began to develop a draft State Program for Geological Development for 2021-2030. This was announced today at a press conference by the deputy head of the Main Department of Geology Alimahmud Alizoda.
According to him, the draft program will soon be submitted to the government.
“According to the project, work will be intensified in the direction of geological exploration, transition to international standards for calculating reserves, using, restoring and protecting reserves of mineral raw materials, as well as monitoring hazardous geological processes, and studying monitoring of groundwater. New technologies will be introduced, the level of skills of the existing personnel will increase,” Alizoda said.
In 2020, 7 million somoni was allocated from the budget funds to the Main Department of Geology for the study of deposits of black, colored, rare and precious metals, semi-precious and decorative stones, radioactive substances, he noted.
The study of the deposits was carried out in accordance with the Program for the Development of the Geological Industry for 2012-2020, and the State Program for the Study and Assessment of Rare Metals Reserves for 2016-2026.
In his annual Address, President Emomali Rahmon instructed the Main Department of Geology in collaboration with the relevant ministries and departments to develop and submit to the government the State Program for Geological Development for 2021-2030.
