DUSHANBE, 19.04.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan and Turkey can sharply increase the growth rate of trade and in the coming years bring the volume of bilateral trade to $1 billion. This was stated by the Chairman of the Turkey-Tajikistan Business Council Cihangir Saatcioglu.
For this purpose, according to Saatcioglu, a working trip of representatives of 15 leading companies of Tajikistan is planned in May this year, and in the summer — a visit of a delegation of Turkish business circles to Tajikistan.
“We hope for the stabilization of the pandemic in Turkey. Tajikistan is one of Turkey’s important trading partners, and despite the negative impact of external factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, we intend to take significant measures to implement the agreements reached by the presidents of the two countries to increase bilateral trade to $1 billion,” Saatcioglu.

According to him, the goal of the Turkey-Tajikistan Business Council is to inspire and motivate Turkish entrepreneurs to establish cooperation with Tajik companies in the field of heavy industry (mechanical engineering), in the supply of agricultural machinery, investment in the processing of agricultural and textile products, and for development services in the field of transport logistics by 2025.
Turkey is one of the main investors in the Tajik economy with a total investment of over $200 million over the past ten years. This is also the merit of the Turkey-Tajikistan Business Council, which includes DEIC.
