Tajikistan and OSCE Discuss the Situation in Afghanistan

DUSHANBE, 10.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin held an online meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden — the Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Ann Linde.
The meeting focused on issues related to the situation in Afghanistan.
Muhriddin informed his counterpart about the alarming situation on the state border with Afghanistan.
The parties stressed the importance of Tajikistan’s contribution and the role of regional projects in the process of establishing peace and economic recovery in this country.
In this regard, they also emphasized the role of the OSCE Border Management Staff College in Dushanbe in re-training on border management issues in the OSCE region.
Linde offered OSCE’s assistance to facilitate the solution of the situation.
The parties expressed their readiness to use ample opportunities to intensify cooperation within the OSCE framework.
