Minister of Energy: Growth Rate of Electricity Generation in 2021 Reaches 104.3%

DUSHANBE, 31.01.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – In 2021, electricity generation in Tajikistan reached over 20 billion kWh, which is 853.8 million kWh more than in 2020, and the growth rate was achieved by 104.3%. This was announced yesterday at a press conference by the Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma.
According to Juma, the production of thermal energy in 2021 reached 1,208,600 Gcal, which is 46,700 Gcal or 4% more than in 2020.
According to the plan for the autumn-winter period of 2021-2022, CHPPs, boiler houses Zapadnaya and Vostochnaya provided the generation of thermal energy on natural gas and coal at the rate of 515 Gcal/h.
“Since the beginning of the season, 2,763 objects have been provided with heat. Currently, 343 Gcal/h of thermal energy is being transferred to these facilities, which is 100% of the plan. In 2021, 839,500 tons of coal was delivered, currently the reserves consists of 364,349.776 tons,” Jum’a added.
He noted that in 2021, as a result of the measures taken and the implementation of practical measures to provide heating points and boiler houses with coal, stable work has been established, and the heating season will pass without any problems.
