Tajik Wrestler Kurbonaliev Becomes Asian Champion in Kurash

DUSHANBE, 20.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik wrestler Dodokhon Kurbonaliev won a gold medal at the Asian Kurash Championship, which started yesterday at the Universal Sports Complex in Dushanbe.
In the weight category up to +100 kg, he defeated the athlete from Uzbekistan Shokhrukh Usmonov in the final.
On the first day, Tajik athletes also won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Haknazar Nazarov in the weight category up to 90 kg lost to Masoud Barotali Kaviboza from Iran in the final and took second place. Umar Rasulov (-81 kg) and Mavlyuda Aslamova (-87 kg) took third place.
Athletes from 24 Asian countries take part in the Asian Kurash Championship.
Today the competition will be held in the weight categories -48 kg, -57 kg, -63 kg, +87 kg among women, -60 kg, -73 kg, -100 kg among men.
