Tajikistan and Lithuania Plan to Gradually Increase Bilateral Trade

DUSHANBE, 12.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Prospects for developing cooperation between Tajikistan and Lithuania were discussed yesterday by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda and the Ambassador of Lithuania to Tajikistan Gintautas Vasulis.
An exchange of views took place regarding the current state and possibilities for expanding Tajik-Lithuanian cooperation.
The existing potential of the two countries in the trade and economic spheres is still not used properly as there is an opportunity to increase bilateral trade.
The meeting focused on the gradual increase of bilateral trade, creation of joint ventures in free economic zones, development of bilateral cooperation in e-commerce and the digital economy.
A number of proposals were also put forward to expand cooperation, including the creation of favorable conditions for finding new markets and buyers of agricultural products, as well as creation of joint ventures in metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, engineering, and other priority areas.
