DUSHANBE, 06.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Tajik U-16 football team defeated Honduras with a score of 3-1 during the UEFA International Development Tournament in Skopje, reports the Football Federation of Tajikistan.

Goals by Abubakr Sulaymonov, Bilol Boboev, and Masrur Gafurov brought victory to the Tajik team in the second round of the tournament.

In another match, North Macedonia beat Kosovo on penalties (regular time — 1:1, on penalties — 4:3).

Earlier, the Tajik team lost to North Macedonia in a penalty shootout (regular time — 3:3, on penalties — 4:5).

Following two rounds, Tajikistan, North Macedonia, and Kosovo scored four points each.

According to the regulations, a team receives 3 points for a win in regular time, 2 points for a win in a penalty shootout, and 1 for a loss in a penalty shootout.

In the final round of the UEFA International Development Tournament in North Macedonia, the youth team of Tajikistan (U-16) will play with their peers from Kosovo on May 8. The game will starts at 18:00 Dushanbe time.
