Tajikistan and Kuwait Sign Important Bilateral Documents

DUSHANBE, 23.09.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan and Kuwait signed bilateral documents that play an important role in the development of relations between the two states, reports the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.
Following the third meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan and Kuwait on Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation which took place from September 19 through September 22, a memorandum of understanding between the Tajik-Kuwaiti aviation services and a protocol on amendments and additions to the agreement on the prevention of double taxation between Tajikistan and Kuwait were signed.
The MoU between the Tajik-Kuwaiti aviation services will allow for the start of regular flights between the capitals of the two states.
The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, Zavki Zavkizoda, and the Deputy Minister of Finance of Kuwait Asel Suleiman al-Saad al-Munifi.
The meeting focused on the state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, finance, investment, banking, transportation, agriculture, energy, education, culture, healthcare, tourism, and sports.
The parties considered it important to attract investments and advanced technologies from Kuwait for the implementation of economic projects in Tajikistan, including for the construction of transportation and communication infrastructure, the creation of joint industrial enterprises, strengthening of cooperation in the field of hydropower, study of oil fields, and export of fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, drinking water, especially the increase in exports of products under the Halal brand from Tajikistan.
