DUSHANBE, 09.11.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, within the framework of the 18th meeting of the Tajik-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, a large number of issues is being considered, including migration interaction. The issue of migration interaction is one of the constituent parts of joint cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan Shahnoza Nodiri.
The meeting is chaired by the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk.
According to Nodiri, close cooperation has been established with Russia’s relevant bodies. These are the Main Directorate for Migration, the Ministry of Labor and Employment, and Rostrud.
“As part of the meeting, special attention will be paid to creating an appropriate environment for Tajik migrants in Russia to feel comfortable and carry out legal labor activities. In this area, the main emphasis will be on attracting Tajik labor migrants as part of an organized recruitment. In 2019, during the visit of the President of Tajikistan to Russia, an agreement was signed between the governments of the two states on the organized recruitment of Tajik citizens to carry out activities in Russia. As part of this recruitment, today, following the meeting, we are planning to open a representative office of the multifunctional Migration Center of Moscow in Dushanbe,” she added.
According to her, the opening of a representative office will allow Tajik citizens who plan to travel to Russia, especially to Moscow and the Moscow region, to facilitate the procedure for processing relevant documents, that is, part of the documents will already be prepared in Tajikistan, and in the future, Tajik citizens will simply need to come to the Migration Center of Moscow in order to obtain a patent for temporary employment.
“An agreement has been signed between the Federal State Unitary Enterprise ‘Passport and Visa Service’ of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, which also intends to open its representative office. As part of this, we plan to create a unified system that will be available to Tajik citizens so that they can pass an exam on knowledge of the Russian language, legislation, history, undergo a medical examination, fingerprint examination so that a citizen can make sure that he is not banned from entry into Russia. After completing all the relevant documents, citizen will be able to travel to Russia,” added Nodiri.
