Judokas of Tajikistan Will Take Part in the Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam 2023

DUSHANBE, 21.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Seven Judokas of Tajikistan will take part in the next tournament of the World Judo Tour — Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam 2023 (Mongolia).
Tajik team, in particular, includes Muhammadsoleh Kuvvatov (weight -60 kg), Mehrzod Sufiev (weight -60 kg), Obid Jebov (weight -66 kg), Behruz Khojazoda (weight -73 kg), Somon Mahmadbekov (weight -81 kg) , Komronshoh Ustopiriyon (weight -90 kg) and Mansur Rahmon (weight +100 kg).
The tournament will take place from June 23 through June 25 with the participation of about 400 athletes from over 45 countries.
The total prize fund is €154,000. Winners in all 14 weight categories will receive €5,000, winners of silver medals — €3,000, and bronze — €1,500. Also, starting with the Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam, one hundred percent scoring begins in the Olympic rankings. Until that time, 50 percent of the results of the athletes were counted.
Thus, athletes will have the opportunity for one more year — until June 25, 2024, to strive to receive Olympic berths.
According to the Olympic ranking, from June 25, 2024, 18 people in each weight category, including one athlete from one country, will receive an Olympic berth.
