DUSHANBE, 15.09.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The achieved high levels of our strategic interaction open up wide opportunities for further expansion of trade and economic cooperation. It is necessary to identify new points of joint growth and use the full potential to achieve a strategic breakthrough in the economic direction. This was said by President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon during his speech at the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
He added that the economies of the region’s countries should complement each other and proposed developing a separate program of cooperation within the region in the fields of agriculture, industry and new technologies.
“We need to strive to implement road and transport infrastructure projects. Tajikistan is making every effort to develop this area in order to turn the republic into a convenient transit zone. We have identified promising and internationally significant transit corridors that pass through our territory from east to west and from north to south. In order to obtain the maximum effect from the development of international cargo transportation, we propose to develop the concept of logistics centers for the countries of the region,” noted President.
