Khatlon Region and the World Bank Mission in Tajikistan Discuss Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 21.09.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 19, as part of the opening ceremony of the first stage of the water supply and sanitation investment project in Bokhtar, the Chairman of the Khatlon region Davlatali Said met with the World Bank Country Manager for Tajikistan Ozan Sevimli.
Davlatali Said spoke about the region’s opportunities and favorable conditions for reforms, investments, development of agriculture, irrigation, water supply, production and industry, as well as tourism development.
A conversation was held about the results of research on water supply and sewerage in the Khatlon region.
It was noted that in order to effectively secure investments within the framework of the water supply, sanitation and waste management project, mechanisms of interaction with citizens, communities, development partners and relevant government agencies in the target districts (Kushoniyon, Vakhsh, Jaloliddin Balkhi, Dusti and Jayhun).
The parties spoke about the possibility of implementing measures in the direction of developing entrepreneurship, creating jobs, producing innovative products, and increasing the country’s export potential.
The meeting also focused on issues of expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of new technologies and prospects for the development of relations.
