EU Commission Ready to Expand Trade and Economic Cooperation with Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 29.11.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda met with Deputy Director General for Asian Countries at the European Union Dora Correia and discussed expanding cooperation in the fields of trade, economics, industry, and green economy between Tajikistan and the EU.
It was noted that Tajikistan considers the EU a reliable and important partner for achieving the country’s strategic goals and socio-economic development.
Along with this, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade provided detailed information on the achievements of Tajikistan in these areas and requested the EU to increase funding for priority sectors of Tajikistan, including “green” energy, especially the construction of hydroelectric power plants, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics , digitalization and strengthening borders.
Correia called Tajikistan’s progress in achieving the country’s strategic development goals and expressed its readiness to support priority sectors.
It was reported that in the first ten days of December, in order to hold talks, an EU delegation will visit Tajikistan to discuss issues of expanding multidisciplinary cooperation.
