SCO Member States Working Group Discusses Prospects for Strengthening Cooperation in E-Commerce

DUSHANBE, 20.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – From May 14 to 16, the 8th meeting of the Special Working Group on E-Commerce of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states was held in Qingdao, China.
According to the SCO Secretariat in Beijing, the meeting brought together representatives from India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with officials from the SCO Secretariat. Experts from Kyrgyzstan and Russia participated remotely via video link.
Participants discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation in e-commerce and shared best practices in promoting employment, supporting women’s entrepreneurship, and integrating small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through regional e-commerce collaboration.
Consultations were held on various documents proposed by member states, and a presentation titled «Silk Road E-Commerce» highlighted regional initiatives and development strategies.
On the sidelines of the event, business networking sessions were arranged, connecting companies engaged in e-commerce from across the SCO member countries.
