Tajikistan, Germany Agree to Extend Trade Facilitation Program in Region

Tajikistan and Germany have agreed to extend a regional trade facilitation project in Central Asia until 2029, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade said Sunday.
An amendment protocol to the agreement on implementing the Trade Facilitation Project in Central Asia was signed by Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda and Viktor Wetzel, director of the German Society for International Cooperation in Tajikistan.
The project covers five Central Asian countries and is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, as well as European Union mechanisms, totaling €5.2 million.
According to the ministry, the initiative aims to strengthen trade facilitation measures and develop solutions to enhance the capacity of transport and logistics companies operating along multimodal transport corridors.
