Officials said that under the policy of President Emomali Rahmon and government measures, cooperation with the United Nations continues to expand in areas including sustainable development, human capital, industrialization, the digital economy and the green economy.
They noted that the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Program for 2023–26 aligns with Tajikistan’s National Development Strategy to 2030, the Medium-Term Development Program for 2026–30 and the Sustainable Development Goals, serving as a key tool for implementing state economic and social policy.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda met with development partners, including U.N. Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan Parvati Ramaswamy, European Union Head of Cooperation Isabel Uriz Hernandez, and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development representative Holger Wifel.
The parties discussed cooperation in economic and social sectors and ways to strengthen coordination between the ministry and development partners, including through the National Development Council.
Abdurahmonzoda said implementation of the Medium-Term Development Program for 2026–30 requires active involvement of development partners and additional financial and technical resources to ensure sustainable development.
Participants expressed readiness to continue cooperation, expand partnerships and implement joint initiatives to support Tajikistan’s sustainable development.
