DUSHANBE, 23.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – In celebration of the inaugural World Football Day, the Football Federation of Tajikistan organized a vibrant and memorable football festival in New York, one of the world’s most prominent cultural and diplomatic hubs.
The event underscored the global significance of World Football Day — an initiative adopted by the UN General Assembly following a proposal by Rustam Emomali, President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, President of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA), Speaker of the National Assembly of Tajikistan, and Mayor of Dushanbe.
On May 22, Rustam Emomali took part in and delivered remarks at the official UN ceremony marking the first-ever celebration of World Football Day at the organization’s headquarters in New York.
In his address, Rustam Emomali emphasized that May 25, now recognized by the international community as World Football Day, embodies the core values of the sport — fair play, teamwork, and mutual respect — which align closely with the principles of the United Nations.
