Electricity Supply Among Key Drivers of Industrial Growth in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 29.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – Industrial output in Tajikistan, including production by private entrepreneurs, reached over 18.8 billion somoni during January–April 2025, marking a 25.2% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Agency on Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
The main contributors to this growth were significant increases in several sectors: the mining industry nearly doubled its output (up by 1.9 times), manufacturing grew by 3.5%, electricity supply, gas, steam, and air conditioning services rose by 9.2%, and water supply, waste treatment, and recycling increased by 28.3%.
Electricity supply, in particular, has been identified as a key factor underpinning the expansion of industrial production across the country.
