Press conference after the high-level talks between Tajikistan and Mongolia

DUSHANBE, 24.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 24, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, held a press conference for representatives of domestic and foreign media after the high-level talks between Tajikistan and Mongolia.
In his press statement, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon emphasized that we discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations, as well as topical issues of the international and regional agenda.
Our Head of State stated that the new cooperation documents signed are aimed at further strengthening the legal basis for the development of interstate relations in various fields.
It was pointed out that both sides supported the increase in practical cooperation in trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, and other areas of interest.
The issue of further expanding interparliamentary contacts and strengthening the role of parliamentary diplomacy in relations between the countries was considered expedient.
It was noted that both sides paid special attention to the development of trade and economic cooperation.
The Head of our state expressed his opinion on the interest of the two countries in establishing joint production enterprises in promising sectors of the economy of the two countries, including the processing industry, especially light and food industry, as well as agriculture, especially livestock breeding.
The need to develop cooperation at the regional level of the two countries, expanding ties in the fields of culture, science and education, youth, sports and tourism was emphasized.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, noted that issues related to security, effectively tackling the global and regional threats were at the center of attention of the parties.
It was highlighted that the issues of reducing the impact of climate change on the environment, promoting the «green» agenda and implementing the sustainable development goals were discussed.
The constructive cooperation and mutual support of Tajikistan and Mongolia on pressing issues of the global and regional agenda within the framework of multilateral institutions were also noted.
In his closing remarks, the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, underlined that during the high-level negotiations, the partnership between the two countries in the international arena, particularly within the framework of the United Nations, as well as other multilateral cooperation structures, was discussed.
