DUSHANBE, 25.03.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan’s under-16 national football team finished third at the Talents Cup 2026 international tournament, which concluded March 24 in Bishkek.

Coached by Jafar Akhmedov, the team defeated Kazakhstan 5-2, drew 3-3 with Uzbekistan and lost 0-3 to Kyrgyzstan, according to the Tajikistan Football Federation.

Kazakhstan won the tournament with six points. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan both finished with four points, but Kyrgyzstan secured second place based on head-to-head results, leaving Tajikistan in third.

Tajikistan’s next competition will be the Central Asian Football Association Championship, scheduled for April 4-14 in Tashkent.
