Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover exceeds $6.8 billion in first half of 2026

DUSHANBE, July 21, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover reached $6.803 billion in the first six months of 2026, increasing by more than $2 billion compared to the same period of 2025.

Speaking at a press conference on July 21, Head of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Khurshed Karimzoda said that imports during the reporting period amounted to $5.224 billion, which is $1.403 billion or 36.7% higher than in the first half of 2025. Exports totaled $1.579 billion, increasing by $635.8 million or 67.4% compared to the same period last year.

According to him, imports accounted for 76.8% of total foreign trade turnover, while exports represented 23.2%.

During the reporting period, Tajikistan exported minerals and concentrates worth $451.7 million, antimony and related products worth $144.2 million, unwrought aluminum worth $116.8 million, cotton fiber worth $73.5 million, fruit and vegetable products worth $39.2 million, cotton yarn worth $20.8 million, and cement worth $4.6 million.

Compared with the first half of 2025, export volumes increased to China by $212.6 million, Belgium by $65.7 million, Uzbekistan by $4.6 million, Russia by $19.9 million, Kazakhstan by $17.6 million, Iran by $2.2 million, and Kyrgyzstan by $2.3 million.

At the same time, exports declined to the Netherlands by $194.3 million, Pakistan by $8.4 million, Türkiye by $6.3 million, France by $3.3 million, and Turkmenistan by $0.6 million.
